Finally!

Well, I am very relieved that Scott Linehan made this decision. Today, he made Gus Frerotte the starting quarterback of the St. Louis Rams…for the next week. Frerotte will start this Sunday’s game against the Cardinals at home.
Frerotte definitely knew this was the right move.
"“Somehow, something needs to change,” Frerotte said. “We made several changes this week and hopefully it’ll show up on Sunday.”"
Linehan, yesterday said Bulger was still the man. And I believe he is. But, he can’t start this week, not with two broken ribs. There’s no question Bulger will be the guy our plans circle in the future but for now, injuries are catching up to him. He needs a rest. Finally, Linehan at least was able to realize that it couldn’t go on like this anymore.
"“There is no question in my mind it affected his ability to play at the level he expects to play and we expect him to play as well,” Linehan said. “I made the decision I would start Gus Frerotte this week because Marc’s not healthy enough to continue playing as our starting quarterback. Until he gets healthy, that’s what I’m going to do.”"
Another important piece of information is that Linehan took back the play calling privileges from offensive coordinator Greg Olson. This could have something to do with the fact that Linehan was the offensive coordinator in Miami when Frerotte started there and he called the plays then so he would want to do the same for Gus now to make it easier.
To be perfectly honest, Scott Linehan is doing an excellent job right now of handling this situation. All coaches have to go through this, and in my eyes he is doing exactly what he should be doing right now which is make some changes. The problem on this team is definitely injuries more than anything at this point and the only solution right now seems to be some changes.
"“We’re not doing so well right now, to state the obvious,” Linehan said. “I felt it was time to make a few changes and try something new.”"
Now there’s a coach that knows his team.
By the way, Andy McCollum started practice Wednesday at left guard, a position he hasn’t played since 2003.
Hey, let’s roll with the punches.
