The Rams have one of their stars back. Steven Jackson guarentees he will start this Sunday’s game at home against the Browns. He was in full uniform Wednesday at practice, and he hopes Rams fans everywhere will be rejuvenated when he comes back.
“We’re 0-7, and we realize that,” he said. “But it’s life, and life comes with problems. You have to find the solution. That’s what I’m here for. … Hopefully, now we can get this thing turned around.”
Well, it seems pretty impossible to do so, as the Rams go through what has been the worst start in franchise history. Many will look back on this and say, ‘Jeez with an offense like that, how did they manage not to win a game through seven weeks?’ The answer is a combination of things that I’ve been talking about throughout this week. Some of the playcalling and the offense has been a complete mess due to injuries. But this week, with Action back, I think there’s a chance we get this first win.
Brian Leonard replaced Jackson somewhat effectively, rushing for over 200 yards and catching nine passes for nearly 60. Still, as the Dispatch reports, replacing last years leading in total yards isn’t quite an easy task, especially for a rookie. Still, coach Linehan is confident that Steven will play this week.
“We’ll be guarded somewhat as we go,” coach Scott Linehan said, “but if we get through this week of practice, there’s no reason he shouldn’t be starting this week.”
Remember, it does take some time to get back to full strength, and I’m sure that won’t be any trouble for this young man with a future. At this point, I’m just confused as to how this team can pull it together. Mathematically, were still in it and I guess that’s all we have to be thankful for right now.
Oh, and one more thing…ACTION’S BACK!
