Mark Setterstrom fractured his left kneecap early in the 3rd quarter of Saturday’s preseason game against the San Diego Chargers. Mark will be placed on injured reserve (IR) and will miss the 2008 NFL season. This is a major blow to the Rams, Mark is the #6 O-lineman on the Rams and is very versatile as well, and they will miss him. The Rams report that Mark will need to have surgery later this week. This is the second bad break for Setterstrom who began the 2007 season as the team’s starter at left guard but suffered a torn left ACL which claimed his 2007 season.

The Rams also announced on Sunday that Brandon Gorin will also miss the 2008 NFL season. Gorin was injured last week against the Tennessee Titans. Brandon has a shoulder injury which they say is similar to the one Orlando Pace had last year.

The St. Louis Rams depth at O-line is now very thin. Adam Goldberg is now a huge member of our roster. Adam will need to be the backup for Alex Barron or Orlando Pace whenever they need a break. With two more preseason games to go it is imperative that nothing happens to Orlando or Alex. In addition draft picks John Greco, and Roy Schuening will have to step up and make this roster.
