Detroit Lions Sign Matt Stafford

Sources have announced that the Detroit Lions have signed Matt Stafford as the #1 overall in the 2009 NFL Draft. NFL.com, SI, Yahoo, and FOXSports.com have all posted the story with different details. All say Matt will receive $41.7 million dollars in guaranteed money.

St. Louis Rams are now on the clock!

Peter King of SI.com has the base at $72 million, with a maximum value of $78
Chris Mortensen of ESPN says the max is $74 million
Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com, Stafford’s deal is worth $78 million over six years
