As previously mentioned, the Rams are not loaded at the receiver position. Well, the Rams were just unloaded even more.
WR Donnie Avery, one of the fastest players on the team, the team’s number one option at WR, and a contender for the punt return and kick return position has suffered a severe foot injury that will keep him out anywhere from 4-6 weeks.
Originally expected to be a minor injury, an MRI revealed that there was a significant amount of damage in Avery’s foot. Last year Avery turned out to be a very pleasant surprise for the Rams, hauling in 53 passes for 674 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The injury leaves Keenan Burton, Ronald Curry, and Laurent Robinson in a battle for the first string receiver until Avery returns.
