Rams Are New York Bound

facebooktwitterreddit

This morning the Rams all piled aboard a flight headed for New York as they are set to take on the Jets at 7 pm (ET) tomorrow. Their flight was delayed for about an hour, but that should not have any ill effects on the eager bunch of football players.

The Rams went 2-14 last season while the Jets narrowly missed the playoffs with a 9-7 mark. Both teams enter the game with a new head coach and several new faces. While the Rams’ enter the game with a question mark at the receiver position, the Jets enter the game with one of the more intriguing QB battles in the NFL. Mark Sanchez, the Jets 1st round pick out of USC, appears to have the edge on Kellen Clemens heading into the preseason schedule, although anything can happen from now to the first week of the season.

Laurent Robinson and Keenan Burton will probably be the Rams’ starters at receiver, with Tim Carter and Derek Stanley backing them up. Steve Spagnuolo has stated he wants all four QBs to get work in during the game as well. Recently, I’ve seen a few depth charts that actually have Keith Null listed ahead of Brock Berlin which should come as no surprise, Null has been making some solid plays during training camp.

And to rap this up, here is the injury report for the game:

Rams

  • Donnie Avery: Questionable
  • Adam Carriker: Out
  • Mike Karney: Out
  • Tye Hill: Probable

Jets

  • Jay Feely: Probable
  • Kris Jenkins: Probable
  • Alan Faneca: Out
  • Nick Mangold: Out
  • Damien Woody: Out
  • Darelle Revis: Out

In a final update.  Michael Vick has been signed to a 2 year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles.  Thus ending any speculation that the Rams may sign him.
