Rams vs. Falcons: Preview

Let me start out by saying I am sorry for the delay between posts. I spent the last day or so moving into my dorm room at Cal State Fullerton, so I didn’t have much spare time, but I’m back and ready to bring a quick preview for the Rams vs. Falcon game coming up this weekend.

Rams Vs. Falcons

Aug 21 8 PM (ET)

The Rams enter this game with several position battles taking place.  The most intriguing one remains the battle for receiver, although the battle for backup runningback is emerging as something to keep your eye on as well.  With QB Marc Bulger out, Spags will have the benefit of seeing all the backup quarterbacks receive a substantial amount of playing time, which should certainly create a battle for the backup QB role (especially since Boller was less than spectacular in his recent outing).

On the defensive side, the CB position seems to be the only position that holds any sort of opening.  Expect to see Quincy Butler have another great game and solidify himself as the third corner behind Tye Hill and Ron Bartell.

Is the Ram’s game on TV tonight? I check the DirecTV guide and it doesn’t show it. I checked the Rams site and it says Channel 2. Channel 2′s site says they are replaying it at 11pm. What’s up?

Cal State Who? Fullerton That’s Who!! Go Titans!! At any rate, I hear that Jacob Bell will not be playing tonight because of his concussion. This could be a great opportunity for John Greco or Roy Shuening to step up to the plate. Also hear that Mark Setterstrom is in the mix. Bell had better stay healthy this year; there are a lot of people vying for his job.

    To the first comment,

Sorry, I haven’t had time to check the tv listings for anything. Like I said moving in to the dorms has been sort of hectic. It is starting to slow down now though so I should be back in full swing over the next couple days.

Yeah I meant to put up an injury report. I really hope Bell stays healthy because the last thing Bulger needs is another rotating line. Greco and Shuening should see plenty of playing time tonight and it should give Spags plenty of oppurtunity to see what they both can do.
