It Wasn’t All Positive
If you are anything like me, you have been talking with your friends over the last two days about how good the Rams were on Sunday. I mean, let’s be honest… We Rams fans haven’t had much to cheer about as of late. And although the win was great and plenty of good things happened on that field Sunday, it wasn’t all lollipops and rainbows. Here are some things I have some issues with. 1. Back-up Running Backs- Before you get all excited and tell me how good Kenneth Darby and Keith Toston were on Sunday, let’s look at the [...]
Who Saw That Coming?
I have to admit that I wasn’t overly confident heading into Sunday’s game at the Dome, but this Rams team completely proved me wrong. I expected the Rams to fall fairly significantly after watching the Redskins run up yards on the Texans the week before, and when I walked to my seats I couldn’t believe that I was surrounded by several Washington fans. Things got off to a good start with SJ39′s big touchdown run early, and St. Louis completely dominated the second half to take the 30-16 victory. Needless to say, my celebration got a little out of hand, [...]
Young Guys Ready To Play
It’s no secret that the Rams have been hit hard by injuries thus far in 2010, so a couple of rookies are expected to be active this week to make their NFL debuts. Jermelle Cudjo will likely be activated from the practice squad to fill in for Clifton Ryan, who is still suffering from migraine headaches. Cudjo really earned his way onto this team with his excellent showing in the preseason, and it will be interesting to see how many snaps he gets tomorrow on defense. Tight end Fendi Onobun is also expected to be active thanks to injuries to [...]
V-Jax Strong-Armed By Chargers
The Vincent Jackson takeover of this blog is nearing its end, so for those of you getting tired of hearing about him, this is probably one of the last times he will be mentioned here. There were plenty of interesting notes to hit the wire about V-Jax today, none more important to us than the fact that the Rams made a contract offer to the talented receiver. Apparently, the Rams pulled out of the sweepstakes after talks with the Chargers broke off due to their astronomical asking price. So for those of you who have been complaining that the front [...]
Rams Say No To V-Jax
So, I did a whole post yesterday on why the Rams won’t be bringing in Vincent Jackson, and league sources revealed today that the team is no longer interested in the troubled wide receiver. Can’t say I’m surprised. The fit just wasn’t right for this team, and he will probably make his way to Minnesota sometime before the deadline. It’s Tuesday, so that means there were several free agents in town for workouts today. Former first-round pick Damione Lewis was among a group that included RB Kevin Jones; WRs Reggie Brown and Yamon Figurs; DTs Dre Moore and Jimmy Saddler; [...]
Rams Still In On V-Jax
I have been getting a ton of questions from Rams fan about where the team stands on wide receiver Vincent Jackson. There have been plenty of rumors that the Rams are one of the teams interested in the troubled Charger, but what are the chances he ends up in the Gateway City? I’m not ready to rule anything out, but I would also be fairly surprised if the team traded for Jackson. First, from what I understand, the Chargers won’t be making this deal unless one of two things happens. 1) The prospective team reaches a one-year deal with Jackson [...]
Rams Fall In Black Hole 16-14
Another week, another failed opportunity for your St. Louis Rams, as they were dropped by the Oakland Raiders on Sunday afternoon by a score of 16-14. Needless to say, there were far fewer positives today than there were last week. As far as overall thoughts, I’m going to repeat my mantra from last week: This team has to take advantage of opportunities when they arise if they are going to win on a regular basis. If you watched the game today, you know that the Rams did not take advantage. They completely outplayed the Raiders for much of the first [...]

The Injury Parade Marches On
As if we haven’t had enough injury trouble over the last few days, the Rams lost rookie linebacker Josh Hull to a season-ending ACL tear in practice on Wednesday. That might not seem like a huge loss, but losing Hull and Chris Chamberlain within a matter of days really depletes the special teams squad. In a move to answer some of the injury problems, the team claimed linebacker Bryan Kehl off waivers from the Giants. Hopefully Kehl can contribute on Teams, because we really need someone to do so. Speaking of special teams, I was asked a question a few days ago in [...]
Another Busy Tuesday
It was another Tuesday filled with movement for the Rams, as the team made several moves and brought in a few players for workouts. Most importantly, the team signed tight end Darcy Johnson to the active roster, and they released DT Jermelle Cudjo. The Johnson move was made because rookie Michael Hoomanawanui is expected to miss a month with his ankle injury. As good as he was in the preseason, this is a tough break for both the Rams and Illini Mike. Johnson was with the team during the preseason, so he should be able to step in and do [...]
