Looking At The Enemy
I mentioned the other day that I had a long conversation with Cat Crave Radio host John White after my interview about the Carolina Panthers, and as promised, here is an inside look at the team the Rams will be hosting this weekend. First, let’s take a look at their quarterback situation. As many of you know, I’ve long been a fan of Jimmy Clausen, but he has really struggled in limited time this season. I’m of the opinion that head coach John Fox, who will not be returning to Carolina next season, is looking out for himself by playing [...]
Media Blitz Tuesday
It was a slow day for the Rams on this Tuesday, but it was a busy one for me. First, I was informed that our own Steven Jackson was to be a guest on the T. Ocho Show that aired on VERSUS at 9:30 CST. If you haven’t heard about this, Bengals’ wide receivers Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco have a reality show. I know, big shocker, right? Well I was informed about SJ39′s appearance earlier in the afternoon, and my first thought was obviously to get on here to let everyone in Rams’ Nation know. Unfortunately, our server was [...]
Thoughts And Updates From Sunday
I’ve had a day to process Sunday’s game, so let’s take a look at the 18-17 loss in Tampa. I’m not going to discuss the second half, so scroll down to yesterday’s post if you want my thoughts. Let’s see how the Rams fared with my keys to the game from Sunday morning, shall we? Youth Is Served – I said the Rams needed to contain Josh Freeman, and they did a decent job on that front. Freeman had just 40 yards rushing, but he did throw for 212 yards and the game-winning touchdown. The biggest rookie impact of the game [...]
No More Conservative Play-Calling
It was looking awfully good again for the Rams today, but the team failed to score in the second half and failed to stop the final Tampa drive as they fell to the Bucs 18-17. I’m going to keep this relatively short since I don’t like to overreact right after losses, but there are some things that need to be said. A more in depth look at the game will happen tomorrow night, so stay tuned. I have a major issue with something this team is doing, and Patrick actually stole my thunder a bit with his comment on the [...]
Rams Head To The Bay
Sunday is here again, and the Rams find themselves on the road this week as they look to push their record over .500 against the Tampa Bay Bucs. This is another very winnable game, but this team has to prove they can win on the road before we truly buy in to what they are selling. Much like the Rams, the Bucs have been a surprise in 2010, and also much like the Rams, Tampa still has a long way to go. Here are my keys to the game for the Rams this week. Youth Is Served – We here [...]
News From Rams Park
In what is usually a relatively slow time of the week over at Rams Park, a good deal of news has actually come out over the past 24 hours or so. First, let’s discuss the roster moves. Nothing hugely significant here, but the team signed LB Curtis Johnson off the practice squad, and they also signed DB Antoine Thompson to the PS. Johnson won’t do anything more than special teams if he is active, and although I like Thompson, I don’t see him making an impact on the defense any time soon. In other news, Chris Long has been named [...]
No Trades For The Rams
The trade deadline came and went today, and the Rams didn’t make any kind of move. I never expected the team to do anything, so I can’t say I’m disappointed. At this point, I’m not sure if trading for any kind of impact player and giving up draft picks is the right answer. The team stood pat, and I’m fine with that. Moving on to business, the team released RB Chauncey Washington on Monday. I have to admit that I’m a little disappointed about this move. I loved the upside of the guy, and I really liked his attitude. I’m [...]
Rams Stun Chargers 20-17
Well, the NFL world was stunned today when the Rams took down the San Diego Chargers 20-17 in the “Terror Dome”. Ummm … I certainly didn’t see it coming, but I don’t think I was alone. As I was watching the game, I kept wondering when the Rams were going to blow it, and then I realized that this isn’t the same old “Lambs” we have gotten used to over the last few years. This team battles on every snap, and they really believe they are going to win games. It’s refreshing to see the effort this team gives every [...]
Rams-Bolts Prepping For Throwdown
So I had a buddy ask me the other day how much the Rams are going to lose by this week when they welcome the Chargers to the Edward Jones Dome, and I really didn’t know what to tell him. I mean, on paper this looks like it could get ugly really quick, but, as the old saying goes, that’s why they play the games. The more I think about it, the more I convince myself that our beloved Rams can at least make a game out of this thing. We have played extremely well at home so far in [...]
Brown A Star, Danario Getting Work
The Rams are still prepping for the San Diego Chargers this week, and it looks like Danario Alexander is getting more work with the offense and special teams. Alexander reportedly took some first-team snaps today at practice, and offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur said he is confident in Alexander’s knowledge of the offense. I’m still not expecting too much from him this weekend, but it’s starting to sound like the team might use him in a greater capacity than originally expected. In some pop culture news, it appears Rams kicker Josh Brown has a cameo appearance in the upcoming Jackass 3D [...]
