The real draft is less than a week away, so let’s get moving on our mock. Jerry Jones and the Cowboys are on the clock now, followed by the Redskins and Texans.
#9 – Dallas – Prince Amukamara (CB, Nebraska)
The Cowboys need some major help in the secondary, and they get a good one here. Patrick Peterson has taken some of the spotlight away from Amukamara, but The Prince is certainly no slouch. He fills a need, and his skill-set is worthy of being drafted this high.
#10 – Washington – Aldon Smith (DE, Mizzou)
The Skins could go many different ways with this pick, because the have a ton of holes that need to be filled. Julio Jones is an option, and they could also look at the quarterback position. If they aren’t in love with any of the other quarterbacks, I think they go after a pass-rusher here. Smith has the ability to develop into an elite sack machine, and he and Brian Orakpo could be a nasty duo for several years.
#11 – Houston – J.J. Watt (DE, Wisconsin)
This might be a little high for Watt, but I think the Texans are intent on using this draft to help out their defense, as well they should. They are probably hoping Smith or Quinn are there when they pick, but since they are both gone already, they go with Watt. He is a hard-nosed guy who will workhis tail
