#3: Steven Jackson HB
Drafted: 1st Round, 24th Pick
Steven Jackson came to be the eventual successor of Marshall Faulk, which he did. Steven danced a little in the backfield in his rookie year. Then like Torry he set off his explosives the next year. He has had 1000 yards for 5 years straight since 2006.
Steven Jackson in his 2006 year had the best running back stats in the NFL. They don’t just run, they have to catch screens too. He had 346 attempts for 1528, received 90 catches for 806 yards. Lead running backs and receivers with most yards from scrimmage. Jackson had 2,334 yards from scrimmage. He was impressive, until next year he barely made 1000 yards. He held out from training camp one season saying he was underpaid. Which he was, he could have just settled it a better way than he did. Steven did have a comeback in 2009. He rushed for 1416 yards and caught 51 passes, more than most of those receivers.
This year he had another great one rushing 1200+ yards and making it to the Pro Bowl. He will eventually have a successor too. But a running back remained undrafted for Rams. Which I do see it’s a little too early for that he still in his 1k yards stage.
