Moss Likely Back On The Market

When it became clear during the 2010 season that Randy Moss was on the market, I was the first one to voice my opinion that the Rams should jump at the chance to add the veteran wide receiver. Well, shocking (sarcasm) news broke this evening that that Titans will not be bringing back the talented but troubled pass-catcher when the 2011 season eventually kicks off. According to Tennessee GM Mike Reinfeldt, the team is happy with what they have.“I honestly don’t think we’ll try to re-sign him,” Reinfeldt said, via John Glennon of the Tennessean.  “We’ve got some young guys we like and I think at this point in his career he will probably go elsewhere.”

So, with the Rams failing to add a true number one receiver in the draft, the question begs to be asked: Should St. Louis sign Randy Moss when he hits free agency?

You can count me in the camp of those who would hate to see Moss on this team. This guy is a cancer, especially for a young team with a young quarterback. Could he help this offense out? Probably. I mean, he was atrocious during his time with the Titans last season, but I don’t know how much of that you can blame on him. The funny thing about this is, while normally I would say there is no chance this team would even think about adding him, the fact that McD is in the fold here is St. Louis makes me think it’s at least a possibility. Moss is obviously in love with everything that has to do with the Patriots, and he had some of his best seasons under McDaniels in New England. I highly doubt that Moss is on the table here, but I will say that I wouldn’t be angry if he did end up with the Rams, because if he would sign here, I would have to assume that there was some relative certainty from McD that he could control Moss and keep him happy. With that being said, I think I’ll still side with those who hope Moss stays as far away from the Gate
