I am tired of hearing so many so-called football fans whining about this lockout. We don’t care if you never watch another NFL game. We don’t care if you are boycotting all NFL merchandise. All of us true football fans care about one thing: our team getting back together and trying to put together a lineup on the field that can win our city a Super Bowl Championship. I recently had a baby boy and he cries alot less than alot of you out there. Get over it. The NFL is a big business, there is alot of testosterone, the ego factor [...]
Free Agency “Coulds”
As always I talk about free agents , wide recievers and etc. Today it is freee agents and I’m bringing up Santonio. Santonio was traded to the Jets last year and it was just one season after being Super Bowl MVP. Which the Jets signed a lot of free agents and did a lot of trading. But now this is their fault that they are going to lose a lot of those players. One is Santonio Holmes and he should leave and get a better contract and a team that needs him. He isn’t an elite reciever but when needed [...]
Is It Finally Over?
I’m still 100% committed to my all-pessimism outlook of all rumors and innuendo regarding the lockout, but even I will admit that it looks like this thing is about over. I know we’ve all heard that before, and to be honest I’ve said it before, but by all accounts the players’ vote on Monday is only a formality and they will agree to the deal sometime in the next 24 hours, probably sooner rather than later. As far as time lines go, we have already heard countless so-called “time lines” put forth by the major media outlets, so I don’t [...]
No Hard Knocks In 2011
As NFL fans we have had to endure much this offseason with the lockout, but I can’t ever remember being as disappointed in news as I was tonight. According to Peter King of Sports Illustrated, HBO has canceled it’s TV show Hard Knocks for the upcoming season. I can’t say this comes as a huge surprise considering the situation we are in with the lockout and missing training camp time, but it still breaks my heart. If Hard Knocks isn’t the best show on TV these days, it is certainly my favorite show at the very least. It’s the kind [...]
Free Agent Next Year
Larry Fitzgerald is under his last year in his contract. What does that mean? He might resign or be traded. Because we all know that the Cardinals isn’t going to release him. Unless Larry doesn’t wants to stay with the Cardinals. That’s the problem, if the Cardinals don’t do anything good he might want to leave. For a better team or an elite quarterback. Which the Rams do have and we are a better team. What I am trying to bring up is that, will there no more Fitzgerald in the west next year? Unless the Rams try to take [...]
Plax Interested In St. Louis Rams
I did an article the other day on Plaxico Burress and what he’s looking for in a team, and I made the connection to the Rams based on his answers. Well, there’s no more need for speculation on how Plax feels about St. Louis after his revealing interview with Adam Schein of Fox Sports. Schein asked Plax about the Rams during the interview, and he had plenty of good things to say. I’m going to put the whole quote on here even though it’s pretty long, because I think everything he had to say is pretty important. “I mean, it [...]
We Want Football -My Thought
Thanks Justin for informing us about the Rams vs. Bears game is canceled. That doesn’t mean the lockout will damage even more, because we all knew this was going to happen. None of the players were ready enough for a game. Especially a primetime game when you are pressured the most and don’t want to do anything stupid. Not to change subjects but did Marshall get cursed? (Madden Curse) I know that it’s very pointless to some of you but it happens every year. It happens early in August and late July during camps. Hope they do something [...]
HOF Game Off; Owners Vote On Deal
Well, it’s finally official. The NFL has canceled the Hall of Fame game between the Rams and Chicago Bears, making it the first real casualty of the lockout. I’ve believed for some time that this game wouldn’t take place, and as disappointed as I am that we have to wait that much longer to see the Rams take the field, the person I really feel bad for is Marshall Faulk. Faulk will still go into the Hall in a ceremony that weekend, but I know it would have been that much more special for him if the organization he had [...]
NFL Lockout: Where Optimism is Just a Word
In this moment of quandary between the NFL and NFLPA, it’s somewhat difficult to refrain from pulling out every strand of hair on your head. The media all but promised both sides would agree upon a new CBA by tonight, which meant the unrivaled intensity and admiration of American football would be restored as the NFL once again opened its doors. Yet, once again, we are left wondering. Both sides have exhausted the bargaining aspect of this new CBA, yet news tonight tells us they’ve come up short on the collective agreement part of it. With the owners approving of [...]
Meetings in Atlanta
Today is the day. NFL do-or-die. Owners and player reps are in Atlanta discussing and voting on the ratification of the new CBA deal that is on the table. According to reports by ESPN, the owners are satisfied with the new deal and the only thing left to do is the players’ vote. Owners are set to vote today around 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Also left to be settled is the player antitrust lawsuit filed by Brady and Co. Two of the players involved in the lawsuit, Vincent Jackson and Logan Mankins, want to be free agents or get [...]
