So, yea, Mark Clayton is back with the Rams on a one-year deal, according to ESPN. What does this mean, given the current disaster at the position? I’ll tell you what it means – another useless receiver.
Oh what!?!? Did he just say Clayton is useless? What the hell is this guy thinkin’? Yes that is exactly what I said! But before the mob of offended readers behead me, hear me out for a second. Clayton is still recovery from a serious knee injury, that needed surgery by the way. He is currently on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. This means he cannot participate in practice – let alone play in an actual game – until it fully heals. The coaching staff then must decided on whether to leave him on the PUP until week 6 of the season or to activate him as soon as this Saturday. So in theory, Clayton will be on the PUP list for about half of the season. See what I mean about being useless?
Nevertheless, I’m glad Clayton is back on the Rams. He and Sam Bradford had a great rapport last season. I advocated his signing since the season ended. But now with Sims-Walker in the fold, and the fact that Mark will not be available for a good portion of the season, he just doesn’t seem to fit in anymore.
This is just my take on the situation. Like it. Love it. Hate it. I appreciate you for reading.
