Week 5 NFC West Talk

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

With the Rams having the day off on Sunday, it gave me a chance to keep a little bit of a closer look at the competition in the NFC West. I have to admit, unfortunately, that I was actually impressed with what I saw for the most part. First of all, let’s start with the Arizona Cardinals. As far as surprises go, the Cards have to be placed in the “negative” category along with the Rams at this point. Before the season started I thought they would be the team the Rams were competing with for the division title. Not [...]

Week 5 Without The Rams

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

Normally, I hate the Rams bye week. It’s almost like a wasted Sunday for me. But honestly, this season, I’m relieved that I’m going to have a Sunday that I don’t have to worry about what the Rams will be doing. I can watch whatever NFL games I want at noon (with Directv Sunday Ticket) and follow how my fantasy team is doing, and then at 3 p.m. I can tune into Game 1 of the NLCS to watch the Cardinals and Brewers. I don’t have to stress about the problems with the Rams offense or their inability to stop [...]

Amendola Gone For The Year Too

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

Remember when I said yesterday that things couldn’t get any worse for the Rams? Well, big shocker, I was wrong. We found out today that wide receiver Danny Amendola will need surgery and will miss the remainder of the season. I think it has been obvious how much this offense, and particularly quarterback Sam Bradford, has missed Amendola’s presence, and they will have to figure out how to get along without him. Obviously, after yesterday’s news that Bradley Fletcher will miss the season, this is devastating. Up until a few days ago, the news on Amendola was positive, and there [...]

Bradley Fletcher Out For The Season

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

I thought things were about as bad as they could get after Sunday’s loss to the Redskins, and I was really hoping this bye week was going to be the start of some good things for the 2011 version of the St. Louis Rams. So much for that. Rams cornerback Bradley Fletcher is going to miss the remainder of the season after tearing his ACL during practice Wednesday on a collision with wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker. Honestly, I don’t really know what to say anymore. Things were already awful on the corner depth chart with Ron Bartell and Jerome Murphy [...]

JT Chat Recap: Rams Coaches On Hot Seat

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

Rams beat writer Jim Thomas held his weekly chat on Tuesday, and to no one’s surprise most of the questions revolved around the status of the Rams coaches, specifically head man Steve Spagnuolo and OC Josh McDaniels. I’ve stated here before that I’m not about to call for Spags’ head this early in the season, but it sounds like much of the Rams Nation isn’t quite as forgiving as me. I was a little surprised at how quickly the fans have turned on McD after how much love he received when he came here this summer, but I can’t blame [...]

WE NEED TERRELL OWENS

AUTHOR: | IN: Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

Did you watch the highlights of your receivers? Our only good receiver is Danny but he is out and Mark Clayton, he is out as well. We cannot wait. We need to release My Hands can’t catch (MSW) and get T.O. We had chances to get a good wide out but we thought we didn’t need one. Well not me I posted that we need a WR every day. I believe this team will go 6-10 now maybe 1-15 again. I was so hyped now I’m so quiet. But I do think the front office shouldn’t have done our schedule [...]

Rams Lose Again, Fall To 0-4

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

For the first three quarter on Sunday, the St. Louis Rams looked almost as bad as they did a week ago in their brutal 37-7 loss to the Ravens. The team rallied over the last 15 minutes to make it a game on Sunday, but in the end a 17-point deficit was too much to overcome as the Rams fell to the Washington Redskins 17-10. I was at the game again this week, and the first three quarters were just plain awful again. That’s pretty much 7 straight quarters, and probably more than that going back to the Monday Night [...]

Meet The Rams Week 4 Opponent: Redskins

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

Here is this week’s installment of our crossover with the Rams opponent for the upcoming week. I had a chance to chat with Redskins writer Ryan Estorninos from Riggo’s Rag about the upcoming game, so here’s his answers to my questions. If you want to see my answers, head over to the Redskins site to check it out. 1. Tim Hightower has notoriously been a Rams killer during his career with Arizona, so talk about how he has looked this season and what kind of workload he will be getting this week compared to Roy Helu. Hightower hasn’t had a stellar [...]

Rams-Redskins Predictions

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

On occasion the fine people over at STLToday.com gather together for a discussion on the Rams and their upcoming game. This week, the panel made their predictions for Sunday’s battle with the Washington Redskins, and the group was not only unanimous in picking the Rams, but they also all produced nearly identical final scores. Jim Thomas, Jeff Gordon and Kathleen Nelson all predicted 24-17 Rams wins, while Joe Lyons sees it as a 20-17 Rams victory. All four writers gave support for their picks, with all of them pretty much saying that the Rams need this win and most of [...]
