St. Louis Rams WR Salas Out For The Year
The injury bug has struck again, and this time it took away a promising young rookie. St. Louis Rams wide receiver Greg Salas will miss the remainder of the 2011 season after breaking his fibula Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. It’s an abrupt end to a season that saw Salas take some giant steps forward as a member of this receiving corps. After a bit of a slow start, Salas really started to come into his own over the last few weeks. He displayed nice hands at times, and he showed the ability to be tough with the ball in [...]
Rams Disappoint Again in 19-13 OT Loss To Cardinals
The St. Louis Rams have given us some disappointing losses in 2011, but Sunday’s 19-13 setback in Arizona is now at the top of my list. The Rams were the better team for most — if not all — of the game Sunday, yet somehow they managed to find a way to lose. It’s times like this when I wish we were allowed to say whatever we want here at Ramblin’ Fan, because an expletive-filled tirade is really the only thing I want to post right now. Since I can’t do that, let me just say this: You can’t win in [...]
Rams QB Bradford A Game-Time Decision
It looks like we won’t know who is starting under center against the Arizona Cardinals until before the game on Sunday, as the St. Louis Rams are calling Sam Bradford a game-time decision. Bradford took snaps with the offense Friday, but the team is waiting to see how his ankle reacts to the extra work. I’m not going to make any predictions on his status, but the chances are looking much better after he did work on Friday. If I had to guess, I’d say he gives it a go after listening to what he said earlier in the week, [...]
Clayton, DX Ruled Out For Sunday
Taking a break from the Sam Bradford saga for a minute (although he did more work today at practice and there is still a possibility he could play Sunday), I thought it was important to let everyone know that Mark Clayton and Danario Alexander have both been ruled out for Sunday at Arizona. DX suffered a setback earlier this week with him hamstring injury, and Spags said on Friday that he won’t be ready to go after missing the last two days of practice. Obviously, this is a hit to the offense, but those hamstring injuries can be difficult and [...]
Rams QB Bradford: Another Step Forward
Rams quarterback Sam Bradford took another step toward recovery on Thursday as he participated in 7-on-7 drills and took more “mental reps” with the offense. The recovery is slowly moving forward, but although the news has been much better this week, I still doubt we are going to see him on the field this Sunday. Bradford has been talking like he expects to play, but this organization is not going to rush him back. Again, there’s still a chance he could go, but expect to see AJ Feeley under center looking for his second-straight win. Speaking of quarterback injuries, it [...]
“Bradford Watch” Continues For Rams
The Rams took back to the field for practice on Wednesday, which means all eyes were on quarterback Sam Bradford and whether or not he will play on Sunday in Arizona. Bradford wasn’t able to go again today, but he was on the field and according to Spags he was able to take “mental reps.” Bradford said the ankle is feeling much better, but he still isn’t ready to test it on the field. As far as his status for Sunday goes, as it has been for the last two weeks, he is being called day-to-day. I have gotten out [...]
Pictures From Rams-Saints
Since Tuesdays are usually pretty slow around Rams Park, I figured I’d post some of the pictures I shot Sunday at the Dome in the Rams win over the Saints. Click on the thumbnail to take you to that picture’s page, and then click on it again for the full-size image. Enjoy!
Rams-Saints Recap; Bradford Sheds Boot
Before we talk about yesterday’s game, I wanted to let everyone know that Sam Bradford removed his walking boot on Monday and did some work at Rams practice. His recovery is still a process, but this is a great sign that he will be able to get back on the field this week when the team travels to Arizona. And no, there’s no quarterback controversy on this team despite AJ Feeley bringing home the win. Now, on to the game. It was quite a weekend for everyone who is a fan of St. Louis sports, so emotions were obviously high [...]
