Rams QB Bradford ‘Hopeful’ To Play Monday
Rams QB Sam Bradford talked with the media Thursday after practice, and he sounded pretty confident that he would be able to play Monday night against Seattle. Obviously, he wasn’t likely to be negative, but I really got the feeling he plans to being ready. “I hope [I can play]. I really haven’t done a whole lot, but try to rehab and try to get it back to functional where I can play. I’m really not sure when I’m going to get back on the field and try it out, but I think that’s coming later this week. Hopefully, everything [...]
Rams Add Another QB: Kellen Clemens
The Rams have officially crossed over into desperation mode when it comes to quarterbacks, and you can’t really blame them after Sam Bradford and AJ Feeley both missed practice on Wednesday. The team added another body today, as they picked up veteran Kellen Clemens. Clemens is coming off a run with the Houston Texans, and he has mostly been a backup during his NFL career, I would love to give Clemens the benefit of the doubt seeing as how he’s a former Oregon Duck, but the man was just let go by Houston to open a roster spot for Jeff [...]
Rams Add QB Gutierrez To Practice Squad
The Rams quarterback situation is in a major state of uncertainty right now, so the team decided it would be wise to bring in another body at the position. Considering that Sam Bradford and AJ Feeley could both be out Monday and Tom Brandstater is the only active QB on the roster, I’d say bringing in veteran Matt Gutierrez was the right move. Gutierrez was signed to the practice squad on Tuesday, and the team released CB Nate Ness to make room. Gutierrez has been all over the league, and although he doesn’t have much game experience in the NFL, [...]
Rams G Bell Could Miss The Season
It’s Monday, which means it’s time for the weekly “who’s out for the season” report. On this week’s list is offensive guard Jacob Bell, who suffered what’s being called a Grade 2 MCL sprain. Bell is expected to miss 4 weeks, and if my math is correct, there’s only 4 weeks left in the season. Since we obviously aren’t going to the playoffs, that would put Bell out for the year. It’s not that Bell is the greatest player in the world, but he was one of the last regulars left on the line and now he’s gone. We were [...]
Rams Blasted By Niners 26-0
I feel like I should just save myself some time every week and save a template on here for every game recap. That template would look something like this: Rams lose to (insert opponent here). The defense did everything they could to keep the Rams in the game, but the offense was inept for the entire game. The defense tired late and the Rams never made a game out of it. I think that pretty much sums up most of the season for the Rams, and it is certainly applicable for Sunday’s 26-0 loss to the 49ers in San Francisco. [...]
We still don’t have a final word on the status of Rams quarterback Sam Bradford for Sunday’s game, but the team took a precautionary measure on Saturday by promoting QB Tom Brandstater to the active roster. If Bradford is unable to go, Brandstater would back up AJ Feeley when the Rams tangle with the San Francisco 49ers in the Bay Area. I don’t know that this move necessarily means that Bradford won’t play, but his status is obviously questionable enough that the team doesn’t want to take a chance that Feeley will be the only QB available. To make room [...]
Rams QB Bradford Day-To-Day With Ankle Injury
The good news is that Sam Bradford did practice on Friday. The bad news is that Bradford was very limited and didn’t do much more than a walkthrough. Bradford’s ankle is still extremely sore, and coach Steve Spagnuolo said he will be day-to-day heading into Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. Honestly, I don’t really know what to make of Bradford’s chances to play. I want to say that I think he’ll be out there, but it sounds like he was very limited in what he could do today. Hopefully things will improve before gametime, but I doubt we [...]
Bradford, Long Both Miss Practice
Thursday was not the good day we had hoped on the injury front, and in fact I think it’s safe to say there were some surprises when Spags met with the media after. Quarterback Sam Bradford and DE Chris Long were both held out of practice as they deal with ankle injuries. According to Spags, both players regressed after Wednesday’s workout, so they did not participate Thursday. Spags wouldn’t predict whether either player would be available this weekend, but he said Friday’s practice will likely determine the statuses for Sunday. Obviously, it’s time to be at least a little concerned. [...]
Bradford Limited On Wednesday
The Rams were back to practice on Wednesday, but quarterback Sam Bradford was limited in his reps as he continues to deal with soreness in his ankle. It doesn’t sound like this is anything to be overly concerned about, but you never want to see your quarterback on the sidelines. AJ Feeley took about half the snaps, but this looks like a precautionary move more than anything. I expect Bradford to be fine for Sunday, but don’t be surprised if he is limited in some form or another at practice over the next few days. In other news, Darian Stewart [...]
