The St. Louis rams released punter Tom Malone and signed defensive tackle John Gill on Friday.
Currently, the Rams only have undrafted rookie free agent punter Johnny Hekker on the 90-man roster, which is uncommon for most NFL teams at this point during the preseason.
STLToday.com had the following to say about free agent signee Gill:
Gill, 6-3, 302, played his college football at Northwestern. Gill, 25, has had stints with Detroit, Indianapolis, and Philadelphia. But he has only played in two regular-season games, registering nine tackles for the Colts in 2009.
