St. Louis Rams at Detroit Lions: Preview, TV and Time

by Rams

Preview:

St. Louis will face a tough foe to kick the 2012-13 regular season off by playing against the Detroit Lions from the NFC North division. After going 2-2 in the preseason, the Rams will need to shutdown Detroit’s impressive passing attack. Most importantly, the Rams defense must be able to contain wide receiver Calvin Johnson and quarterback Matthew Stafford. On offense, the Rams will be dealing with an onslaught of defensive lineman in Ndamukong Suh, Kyle Vanden Bosch, Nick Fairley and Cliff Avril. Not to mention the Lions have three pretty tough linebackers in Justin Durant, DeAndre Levy and Stephen Tulloch.

Outcome:

St. Louis Rams fans should expect a loss this week. Detroit has a lot more talent and have the advantage of having a stable coaching staff in place the past three years. Last season the Lions went 10-6 and were able to land a playoff spot. It’d be shocking if the Rams beat the Lions during the opening weekend.
