With Pettis’ suspension lifted, St. Louis Rams, Bradford will have better passing attack

by Breaking News

St. Louis Rams wide receiver Austin Pettis came back from his four game suspension on Monday.

Pettis was suspended last December for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy and was required to sit out the last two games of the 2011 season and the first two games of the 2012 season.

With Pettis back in the lineup, the St. Louis Rams, and quarterback Sam Bradford, will have an additional weapon on the field Saturday when the team travels to Soldier Field to take on the Chicago Bears, assuming head coach Jeff Fisher puts Pettis on the 46-man dressing roster.

Bradford is starved for big time targets, as receiver Danny Amendola has been the Rams’ go-to wide out so far this season. Adding Pettis to the roster will help Amendola see fewer double teams, and it will also open the run game up even more.

Pettis recorded 27 receptions for 256 yards in 12 games last season.
