According to ESPN.com, Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Rams. The report cited a right ankle sprain injury that will keep Forte out of the Bears’ lineup.
Forte missed four straight practices after he suffered the ankle injury against the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 13.
This is good news for the St. Louis Rams, as the defense will not have to worry about shutting down one of the best running backs in the NFL.
Because of Forte’s injury, the Bears resigned Kahlil Bell earlier this week. Bell didn’t make the Bears’ final 53-man roster after the preseason, but he is definitely familiar with the team’s offense and could pose a threat for the Rams’ defense. Running back Armando Allen could also help the Bears’ ground game, if needed.
The St. Louis Rams take on the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on Sunday.
