NFC West: Arizona Cardinals RB Beanie Wells placed on IR

by Breaking News

According to multiple reports, the Arizona Cardinals have placed star running back Beanie Wells on injured reserve with the designation that he can return later in the season.

Although Wells is not lost for the entire season, this is great news for the St. Louis Rams and the rest of the NFC West division because the Cardinals will go to battle with one less weapon for a decent amount of time this season.

Wells may not miss both matchups against the St. Louis Rams, but his absence could mean that the Cardinals rack up several losses with him no longer in the lineup. At the very least, this news should help the Rams ascend the division ranks.

It is still a longshot that the Rams make it to the playoffs, given Arizona’s amazing start to the season and the fact that the San Francisco 49ers appear to be somewhat of a powerhouse.

The Arizona Cardinals will face the Miami Dolphins this Sunday.
