NFC West: San Francisco 49ers handles New York Jets 34-0 easily on the road

by Game Day

San Francisco 49ers at New York Jets – The San Francisco 49ers (3-1, 2-1 away) destroyed the New York Jets on Sunday, as Colin Kaepernick impressed everyone with his feet.

Kaepernick carried the ball five times for 50 yards and one touchdown. Running back Frank Gore also added 62 yards and a score on 22 carries. Alex Smith had a mediocre day by only completing 12 passes for 143 yards, but prolific passing was unneeded in Sunday’s game.

For the Niners defense, Carlos Rodgers recovered two fumbles, one of which was returned for a 51-yard touchdown. Defensive lineman Justin Smith also recovered a fumble, and linebacker Patrick Willis helped by adding 10 tackles and an interception.

Next week the San Francisco 49ers host the Buffalo Bills at Candlestick Park.
