If it wasn’t official already, it is now. Gregg Williams is once again the defensive coordinator of the St. Louis Rams.

This will not be going down the same path as Rob Ryan last season when Ryan was then wasn’t the Rams defensive coordinator.

Williams coming to St Louis has been long in the waiting as Fisher hired Williams as his defensive coordinator when he arrived two seasons ago. Little did he know that the NFL would suspend Williams for the season for his role in the bounty scandal in New Orleans.

“I am excited about coaching this defense. I would like to thank Jeff Fisher and the Rams organization for this opportunity and I am looking forward to getting to work and helping our defense become one of the best in football,” said Williams.

Williams is known as a very aggressive defensive coordinator and could bring the Rams defense to their full potential. The Rams were expected to become a top ten defense last season, but that was not the case as they ended up right around the middle of the pack.

Williams could be just what the Rams need to get to next level. Fisher finally has the guy that he initially wanted, now we will see what this defense can do. The Rams are a team looking to get over the hump and a big part of them doing that is good, consistent play from their defense. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
