As we near the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, St. Louis fans know that the first round isn’t the only round that matters. Impact players can still be found in the middle and late rounds.

Every day this week we are going to give you three players to watch in each round that the Rams could be interested in. Yesterday we gave you our first round prospects to watch and today we will hit the second round.

WR Jordan Matthews, Vanderbilt

The Rams found one offensive standout from Vanderbilt in last year’s draft, and if they miss out on a wide receiver in the first round. Matthews will be a guy to keep and eye on.

Jordan Matthews is a big guy standing at  6’3”, 206 pounds and special talent as he hauled in 112 receptions in his last season. He is a reliable target for teams to look to when they need that big catch on third down and would be a great offensive tool for quarterback Sam Bradford.

Even if the Rams don’t lose Cortland Finnegan, the Rams are going to want some sort of depth at the position. If the Rams miss out on a cornerback in the first round, they can still get a decent cornerback in Purifoy.

Purifoy is a bigger cornerback as he stands six feet tall, his only real downsides are his ball skills as he only had one interception last season, and his off the field issues.

Fisher and the Rams have been known to take troubled players, i.e. Janoris Jenkins. Another cornerback to watch is Virginia Tech’s Kyle Fuller.

OG Cyril Richardson, Baylor

The Rams have had one big issue with Baylor offensive lineman, one name Jason Smith might sound familiar. However, the Rams need offensive lineman especially a guard, and Richardson could be that guy.

The Baylor Bears were one of college football’s best rushing attack this past season and a big part of that was due to Richardson. Adding a big guy like Richardson who is a pretty good run blocker, could help the Rams rushing attack.

Well Rams fans, there you have it. Three players to watch this weekend at the NFL Scouting Combine that the Rams could be interested in come draft day. Come back tomorrow for round three.
