Defensive end Michael Bennett and Lamarr Houston will per say, set the market for defensive ends moving forward. Bennett signed a four-year deal with the Seahawks worth up to $34M on Monday.

This is important because the Rams will be looking to extend their own pass rusher next offseason, Robert Quinn. Obviously, Quinn has earned his pay-day with the season he had last season, but the Rams would like to keep the number that they have to pay him, down as much as possible, but still be fair.

The reason extending Quinn now is important is because the Texans will be looking to extend Watt as soon as before the season and if that does happen, the bar for defensive ends will have been set as Watt is not only one of the best defensive ends in the league, but best defensive player.
