It is said that you can never have too many pass rushers, just look at the Seattle Seahawks last season for evidence. Being able to have fresh legs and fresh pass rushers ready to go can be a luxury in the NFL.

The Rams are trying to do just that and add even more pass rushers to an already good defensive line. It has been reported by Pro Football Talk that former Cowboys outside linebacker/defensive end, Anthony Spencer, is visiting the St. Louis Rams Sunday.

Spencer is a 30 year old defensive end who will be coming off microfracture surgery on his left knee which limited him to one game last year. However, Spencer is a talented player that had 11 sacks in 2012, and if the Rams can get him for a cheaper price it could be worth the gamble.

In 2012, Spencer was the top rated outside linebacker on Pro Football Focus. Although Spencer plays outside linebacker, that was in a 3-4 defense,if he were to come to St. Louis he would  most likely play defensive end as the Rams play a 4-3.

It was also reported on Pro Football Talk, that one of the other teams interested in Spencer is the Cowboys NFC East Rival, Washington Redskins.

In other Rams free agency news, wide receiver Kenny Britt came and went without a deal, and although a deal could still get done, at this point Britt is considering his other options. Guard Shelley Smith agreed to a deal with the Miami Dolphins, and Davin Joseph also left St. Louis without a deal. Stay tuned on Ramblin’ Fan for more free agency news and updates.

*Update: Pro Football talk has retracted their report of Spencer visiting the Rams and has since reported that he will be visiting the Giants instead.

"Brandon George of the Dallas Morning Newsreported early on Sunday that Spencer was set to visit the Rams on Sunday, but he has retracted that report and now reports that Spencer will be visiting the Cowboys’ division rivals in New Jersey. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network also reports that Spencer will be taking a visit with the Giants."
