Head coach Jeff Fisher did say the Rams weren’t quite done in free agency, and that certainly looks to be the case. According to Ian Rappoprt of NFL.com, former Chicago Bears defensive tackle, Henry Melton, is on his way to St. Louis to visit the Rams.

The 27-year old Melton, is coming off of a torn ACL, but would add some nice depth on the Rams’ defensive line. Melton’s specialty is rushing the passer, as he had 13 sacks combined in 2011 and 2012 and the seventh rated pass rushing defensive tackle on Pro Football Focus in 2012. Melton also made the Pro Bowl that year.

Melton has the ability to start, but with Kendall Langford and Michael Brockers already in place on the defensive line, Melton would hopefully add quality depth behind them.

Not only does Melton come with his recently torn ACL, but he was also recently arrested in a bar. Melton does come with his red flags, but still signing him to add good depth on the defensive line could be beneficial. As they say, you can never have too many pass rushers, and Melton is just that.
