Zach Mettenberger

He has the size and the arm to be a successful NFL quarterback. He can fit the ball in tight windows and ran a pro-style offense having former NFL offensive coordinator and NFL head coach Cam Cameron as his offensive coordinator at LSU.

Playing in the tough SEC conference, the 6’5, 230-lbs quarterback threw for 3,082 yards, only the third LSU quarterback to do so, 22 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Mettenberger had a 64.9% completion percentage.

Mettenberger is coming off of a torn ACL and will need time to rehab, but if he came to St. Louis that would be alright as he wouldn’t be expected to start right away anyway. He also has a habit of taking bad sacks and he gets rattled when he is under pressure. Not to mention his character and off the field issues.

Verdict: Ok Fit

Mettenberger would work better in a vertical style offense. However, he is a good drop back, pocket passer and if the Rams had a chance to take him in the third or fourth round, Mettenberger would be a solid option.
