Sam Bradford To Play First Quarter Against Packers

The moment that we have all been waiting for since last October is almost here. According to head coach Jeff Fisher, we will finally get to see Sam Bradford back on the football field. Fisher made the announcement earlier in the week but wasn’t clear as to how much Bradford would play.

"“Well, we’re going to play him a quarter maybe a little bit more and for him to continue doing the same things he’s doing out here. Push the ball down the field, it’s an opportunity to work against someone else and work with our receivers that he’s been working very well with right now.” Rams coach Jeff Fisher said following Thursday’s training camp session."

This first game will be a big one for Bradford. It’s going to be interesting to see how he reacts in the pocket and to see just how much confidence he has in his knee. Bradford has reportedly looked strong in camp, but there is a big difference between practice when guys aren’t allowed to touch you, and a game when you have guys like Clay Matthews trying to go after your legs.

The other big name that Rams fans are excited to see back on the field is offensive tackle Jake Long. Unfortunately for Bradford, he will be without his starting left tackle for at least one more week.

"“I’m going to wait another week for Jake. Jake’s doing a great job out here, but we’re going to wait another week for Jake…” said Fisher."

The most important thing is that these guys stay healthy and are ready to go week one of the regular season. There is no sense to force them out on the field before they are ready. The Rams play the Packers on Saturday at 3PM CT in the Edward Jones Dome.
