2010-2011 St. Louis Rams Win Super Bowl XLIX

It was another classic that will go down in the history books. After being down 24-14 with just over 12:00 to play, the 2010-2011 St. Louis Rams can add a Super Bowl XLIX title to their name.

In 2o10 and 2011 the Rams had Danny Amendola, who became Sam Bradford‘s favorite check-down, and Michael  “uh-oh” Hoomanawanui, who showed flashes but couldn’t stay healthy.

In fact, Amendola is the Rams third-leading receiver since 2007 pulling in 689 yards in 2010 and Hoomanawanui was second on the team in touchdowns with three the same year.

Flash forward to four years later, and both are now Super Bowl Champions and played in arguably one of the greatest championship games to date.

Amendola played quite a large role in the Patriots Super Bowl win. The former Ram receiver had five catches for 48 yards and a touchdown that pulled New England within three points.

Hoomanawanui didnt play much of a role, but he did have one catch for four yards and will still get a Super Bowl ring.

Also making appearances in Super Bowl XLIX were 2014 sixth round pick, Garrett Gilbert who signed to the Patriots practice squad, Brian Schottenheimer who called the Seahawks final play, Josh McDaniels, as well as Kurt Warner who was honored by presenting the Super Bowl trophy to the Patriots(awkward moment).

The Patriots were only a Steve Spagnuolo as defensive coordinator away from making it a complete Rams party. However, even without Spags, the Pats still had three other Rams to hinder their performance yet overcame them and won their fourth Super Bowl in the Bill Billichick-Tom Brady era.

While the actual Rams are left Super Bowl-less, it is nice to see former Rams, especially fan-favorites like Amendola to get his due. This shows how much of an effect good coaching and quarterbacking can have on a franchise.
