On Sunday the St. Louis Rams were in Nashville looking for their first win of the preseason against the Titans. Unfortunately, that did not happen, but they did receive good news when it was announced rookie running back Todd Gurley was cleared to participate in all aspects of football activities. This was some much needed good news for a team that is reeling right now due to injuries and a sputtering offense. We’ve got your links below to get you caught up on all your Rams news and more from the NFL.

St. Louis Rams reporter Nick Wagoner also took his stab at another 53 man roster projection. This one was slightly different from his first version, but includes some interesting cuts. Maybe the most interesting cut lands in the quarterback column. The Rams are expected to carry only three and it would appear the odd man out could be Austin Davis. This time around running back Isaiah Pead survives the axe and earns a spot on the roster. The true 53 names will be released in a few weeks, but for now we can all still ponder that nerve racking questions, who’s it going to be?

Hall of Famer Cris Carter found himself in some hot water recently when video of the former wide receiver surfaced from the 2014 rookie symposium. The video shows Carter speaking to the new rookie crop and giving some pretty poor advice. He advises them to find a “fall guy,” for situations when things go south. Carter did an about face this week apologizing for his poor choice of words. It’s not a good look for Carter, or a league looking to break free of such stigmas.

Once again the injuries continue to pile up around the league as a few more notable names went down this past weekend. Wide receiver Jordy Nelson of the Green Bay Packers will now miss all of 2015 due to a torn ACL. Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey will need surgery on his injured left ankle. An injury suffered in the same game as Nelson. Two marquee players their respective teams will need to make due without.

In some more concerning news from an elite player in this league, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning admitted that he has no feelings his fingertips. Concerning for not only the Broncos, but also the overall health of one of the sports all-time greats, this news comes as a surprise to many. Manning’s recent decline in production might be attributed to this recent admission. Manning played off last season’s woes to an illness he picked up down the stretch, but it may appear some deeper was at work.
