Rams and Cardinals inactive player list for Week 4 match up

The St. Louis Rams are looking to avoid a 1-3 start as they take on the Arizona Cardinals Sunday at 4:25pmET. With a loss the Rams would move to 1-3 on the year and travel to Green Bay in Week 5. the possibility of a 1-4 start is very realistic. However, a win would bring the team back to .500 at 2-2, and more importantly move them to 2-0 in division play.

Today’s inactive players for St. Louis include defensive end Eugene Sims, running back Chase Reynolds, safety Maurice Alexander, quarterback Sean Mannion, offensive tackle Darell Williams and offensive lineman Andrew Donnal. The roster currently sites at 52 players with the recent trade of wide receiver Chris Givens. The team is likely to activate running back Trey Watts from his four game suspension on Monday to bring that number back to the full 53.

Inactive players of the Cardinals include running back Andre Ellington, wide receiver J.J. Nelson, linebacker Shaq Riddick, offensive guard Ted Larsen, offensive tackle D.J. Humphries, quarterback Matt Barkley and nose tackle Xaiver Williams.

Both Sims and Reynolds have not played since injuries suffered in Week 1 agains the Seattle Seahawks. The loss of Alexander creates issues for the defensive backs group that is already limited in personnel. Mansion and Donnal have not been active in 2015.

With Ellington sitting once again for the Cardinals, they will rely heavily on the legs of running back Chris Johnson. Johnson stepped up with a 110-yard, two touchdown performance last week against San Francisco. The Rams defensive line will need to contain Johnson and rookie David Johnson who also has a rushing touchdown in limited action this year.

For St. Louis, today will be about getting wide receiver Brian Quick involved with the offense early and often as the Rams look to bring some life back into their stagnant offense. Quick will be active today for the first time since suffering a shoulder injury in Week 7 of the 2014 season. Quick was the Rams leading receiver with 375 yards and three touchdowns at the time of his injury.
