College Football’s East-West Shrine game, which is an annual postseason college football all-star game, took place Saturday. During college football’s East-West Shrine game, teams are allowed to conduct interviews with players throughout the week. These interviews can mean that the team is interested, but it could also mean nothing. If anything it means that these players are one a teams radar.

Here is a run down of the 2016 NFL Draft prospects that the Los Angeles Rams interviewed this week and why you should be interested too. This isn’t a full list as teams usually dont release those. You can see who other teams interviewed by visiting walterfootball.com.

LB Cory James – Colorado State

If the Rams were going to draft James it would most likely be for depth as given that the team had to move Mark Barron down to linebacker, they are lacking there. After playing primarily on the edge, he did make the move to middle linebacker where he improved as the year went on. With his edge rushing experience, the Rams could possibly move him down to defensive end.

WR Hunter Sharp – Utah State

The Rams need a wide receiver who can be a difference maker. He is smaller at 5’11, but he has the ability to blow the top off of defenses with his speed. In the end, he may just be a taller Tavon Austin and more skilled Chris Givens.

DE Aziz Shittu – Stanford

Shiitu is a very athletic defensive end with the ability to give offensive lines headaches on Sundays. There is question as to whether he’ll play defensive end or outside linebacker in a 3-4. The Rams need depth at defensive end and Shiitu would do just that.

From the players interviewed it looks like the Rams are indeed looking for a potential wide receiver  that can make a difference on offense. Sharp has playmaking ability. With two edge rushers, the Rams may also be looking for depth there.

Be sure to check these players out as they are clearly on the Rams’ radar. Next week, keep an eye out for Senior Bowl coverage!
