Despite failing to make the playoffs in his first four seasons, Jeff Fisher deserves an extension from the Los Angeles Rams.

After season tickets officially sold out, expectations are high for the Los Angeles Rams heading into their first season in a new city as the team looks to rebuild off of last year’s 7-9 finish. Between two wins over the Seattle Seahawks and winning three of their final four games to end the season, the Rams have a lot to build off of heading into 2016, but the team’s first priority should be providing an extension for Jeff Fisher.

The head coach is entering the final year of his contract and while the Rams’ offense saw their fair-share of struggles throughout the 2015 season, it should be noted the team emerged as one of the most underrated defenses in the league. Aaron Donald has basically been unstoppable to contain by recording 20 sacks over his first two seasons and Fisher can only hope he continues to see improvement in 2016 from his start defensive tackle.

There are plenty of organizations that would have pulled the plug on Fisher by now, but it would be foolish for Los Angeles to replace him at this point. With all of the hype surrounding the Rams return to Los Angeles, here’s five reasons why Fisher deserves an extension from the organization as soon as possible.
