Second-year quarterback Sean Mannion played the entire second half for the Los Angeles Rams and led the team to a comeback win against the Dallas Cowboys.

On a night where all eyes were on No. 1 pick Jared Goff, it was Sean Mannion who stole the show and ended up being the deciding factor for the Los Angeles Rams during their preseason opening win against the Dallas Cowboys.

After Goff was held out of the second half due to shoulder soreness, Mannion shined for the Rams during the team’s 28-24 win over the Cowboys. Mannion wasted no time making an impact by throwing a touchdown to Chase Reynolds on the opening drive and topping things off with what ended up being the game-winning touchdown pass to Aaron Green with less than two minutes left in the fourth quarter.

Overall, Mannion completed 18 of 25 passes for 147 yards with three touchdowns–making Jeff Fisher feel more confident about his third-string quarterback.

Mannion only appeared in one game for the Rams as a rookie in 2015, but he already seems like a completely different quarterback when looking how confident he seemed to be against the Cowboys. It may only be one game, but if Mannion can build off this impressive performance against Dallas and continue playing this well over the next three games of the preseason, Fisher could find himself in a tough situation when choosing a backup quarterback.
