Kenny Britt hopes to give the Los Angeles Rams their first 1,000-yard receiver since Torry Holt in 2007.

The Los Angeles Rams entered the 2016 season knowing they had one of the league’s weakest receiving corps, and when considering the team is averaging just 4.5 points per game after two games, it’s easy to see why.

Despite having one of the league’s top running backs in Todd Gurley, the Rams ranked near the bottom of the league when it came to overall offense in 2015, with the passing game being one of the main reasons why. Los Angeles has been in desperate need of a big playmaker at wide receiver for quite some time, and with the potential Kenny Britt is already showing, the team hopes the former first-round pick can give them team their first 1,000-yard receiver since 2007.

No, that’s not a mistake as the last time the Rams had a 1,000-yard receiver was almost 10 years ago when Torry Holt caught 93 passes for 1,189 yards. With Britt entering his third season with the team, the wide receiver is carrying over his success from the preseason while giving fans hope the embarrassing streak will finally come to an end in 2016.

In two games, Britt has already caught 10 passes for 161 yards–including a performance against the Seattle Seahawks in which he caught six passes for 94 yards. The Rams may only be two games into the season, and are still waiting for their first touchdown of the season, but the presence of Britt at least gives the team something to be excited about in the passing game.

Nothing against Tavon Austin, but Britt is turning out to be a much more reliable option for Case Keenum when it comes to being the team’s No. 1 target at wideout.
