Offense Continues to Struggle For Los Angeles Rams in Week 9 Loss to Carolina Panthers

The Los Angeles Rams fell 13-10 to the Carolina Panthers for their fourth loss in a row.

Just when it seemed like the Los Angeles Rams couldn’t disappoint their fans any more, they go out and display another embarrassing performance at home against the Carolina Panthers.

The Rams suffered their fourth loss in a row on Sunday after falling 13-10 to the Panthers as it took the team until the final minute of the game to find the end zone when Case Keenum found Kenny Britt for a 10-yard touchdown with 34 seconds left. Other than that score, Keenum struggled to lead the offense once again for Los Angeles after the quarterback completed 27 of 46 passes for 296 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

With another disappointing performance, it’s difficult not to wonder if the team is finally going to give Jared Goff a shot at the starting job.

Keenum has been given every opportunity to prove himself as the starter for the Rams, and while the argument can be made he has one of the league’s weakest receiving corps, it’s time to just accept that he’s not a very good NFL quarterback. There’s a reason why Keenum only has two career games with more than 300 yards passing as the frustration over the veteran seems to have hit an all time high.

If Keenum’s performance wasn’t already frustrating enough, Todd Gurley had another rough game in the backfield after rushing for only 48 yards on 12 carries. Obviously, the argument can be made that Gurley would have received the ball more if Los Angeles wasn’t trailing all game, but this just adds to the list of disappointments surrounding this offense in the 2016 season.

Even though they ranked near the bottom of the league last year in offense, the Rams finally seemed ready to prove their doubters wrong by showing signs of improvement this season. Instead, the offense looks to be just as bad as last year as Los Angeles continues to struggle with putting points up with Keenum under center.
