Los Angeles Rams head coach Jeff Fisher spoke about his challenge flag fail and the news of a contract extension for general manager Les Snead.

As if all of his other problems weren’t enough, Los Angeles Rams head coach Jeff Fisher failed at throwing his challenge flag in the Week 13 loss to the New England Patriots.

It happened during the third quarter in what was another embarrassing moment for Fisher. Thanks to his bulky coat, the Rams head coach simply couldn’t locate his challenge flag. Instead, he had to verbally tell the referee he wanted to challenge.

You can watch the video here. Perhaps a lighter coat and some extra layers underneath would have been a better choice.

Here’s what Fisher had to say about it:

Fisher also noted he was “underdressed” in the first half and had to bundle-up a bit more after learning his lesson. And, in turn, he learned another lesson: keep your challenge flag in an easily accessible place when wearing an 800-pound jacket.

You know things are bad when Fisher finds himself losing to a winter coat.

Jeff Fisher on Les Snead Contract Extension

Not only did Fisher talk about general manager Les Snead’s contract extension, he also took blame for the team’s poor record:

Per Alden Gonzalez of ESPN:

"“I’m so busy here, I was honestly unaware that he was extended. I’m being honest with you. We’re just working here.”"

Then came the usual take blame first, make excuses later approach:

"“I look at this as being my responsibility, the win-loss record. We need to do a better job from a personnel standpoint. We’ve had some unfortunate things take place with some high picks in Steadman Bailey and Tre Mason and those kind of things you don’t anticipate. But we’re moving forward.”"

Is Fisher just trolling us at this point?

He knows Rams fans are frustrated and the last thing anyone wants to hear is another excuse. Fisher is the king of excuses and it boggles the mind that he’d continue this charade, knowing full well he’s a laughingstock because of it.
