Ohio State’s Urban Meyer played a prank on recruit Baron Browning about taking the head coaching job for the Los Angeles Rams.

Without even trying, the Los Angeles Rams were part of a hilarious prank involving Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer and five-star recruit Baron Browning, who is currently ranked the top outside linebacker in the country. Turns out, Meyer played a prank on Browning about how he was leaving the Buckeyes to take the open gig with the Rams after Jeff Fisher was fired, but the head coach had a good reason for the joke.

Apparently, Browning is a jokester who thought it would be funny to play a prank on Meyer and the rest of the coaching staff about how he was committing to Alabama instead of Ohio State. When seeing how competitive Meyer has been throughout his career, one can only imagine the level of frustration on the head coach’s end after hearing one of the nation’s top recruits would be ditching him for Nick Saban‘s squad.

What makes story even more legendary is hearing how Browning’s mother teamed up with Meyer to assist the prank regarding the Rams job. Once again, Ohio State finished with one of the top recruiting classes on National Signing Day after finishing second to Alabama, and here’s to hoping Browning’s immediate impact is just as good as his pranks.

As for the Rams in all this, there’s no question the organization would have loved the opportunity to land a coach like Meyer, but the argument can also be made he’s not cut for the NFL. No matter what, at least Los Angeles will always be able to cherish the brief moment of being part of Meyer’s hilarious prank on Browning.
