. Mark Barron S Alabama
. Another Bama player goes here as the Bengals have a huge need at safety.

22. Cleveland Browns (from Atlanta)
. Nick Perry OLB/DE USC
. The Browns got their QB in RG3, so now they get another pass-rusher to add to their line.

23. Detroit Lions
. Peter Konz C Wisconsin
. The Lions need to upgrade the position with youth, and Konz was impressive during his time at Wisconsin.

24. Pittsburgh Steelers
. Dont’a Hightower LB Alabama
. Noticing a trend here? Another Bama player goes and finds himself in a perfect situation.

25. Denver Broncos
. Devon Still DT Penn St.
. Still will probably go much higher than this, but the Broncos will be ecstatic if he is on the board.

26. Houston Texans
. Cordy Glenn G Georgia
. Houston would probably like a WR here, but Glenn fills a major need and the top receivers are off the board.

27. New England Patriots (from New Orleans)
. Jerel Worthy DT Michigan St.
. The Pats are going to address defense, and they start up the middle with the big boy.

28. Green Bay Packers
. Alfonzo Dennard CB Nebraska
. Dennard is a quality cover corner who is a good value late in the first.

29. Baltimore Ravens
. Vontaze Burfict LB Arizona St.
. Ray Lewis isn’t getting any younger, and Burfict looks like an excellent successor.

30. San Francisco 49ers
. Jayron Hosley CB Virgina Tech
. The Niners’ top need is at corner, so they address it here.

31. New York Giants
. Lamar Miller RB Miami
. I’ve seen Miller higher on most mocks, but if he’s there for the Giants they will pull the trigger.

32. New England Patriots
. Chase Minnifield CB Virginia
. The Pats have a need at corner as well, and Minnifield can also return punts.

Here is Part 2 of my mock which includes picks 11-20. There are some big names here and the “National Champs” (and I use that term loosely when referring to Alabama) are well represented.
11. Kansas City Chiefs
. Trent Richardson RB Alabama
. The Chiefs love to run the ball and Jamaal Charles is coming off an ACL injury.

12. Seattle Seahawks
. Quinton Coples DE North Carolina
. The Hawks need a QB, but there isn’t one left worth this spot. Upshaw will provide a much-needed pass rusher.

13. Arizona Cardinals
. Luke Kuechly LB Boston College
. The Cards need a playmaker in the middle, and Kuechly fits that mold perfectly.

14. Dallas Cowboys
. Dre Krikpatrick CB Alabama
. I’ve seen Kirkpatrick all over other mock drafts, but the Cowboys need a corner and they will take a chance on him despite his drug arrest.

15. Philadelphia Eagles
. Michael Floyd WR Notre Dame
. The Eagles are going to target a receiver, and Floyd would be a great addition to the offense

16. New York Jets
. Alshon Jeffery WR South Carolina
. Santonio Holmes is likely on his way out, so the Jets give Mark Sanchez a weapon.

17. Cincinnati Bengals (from Oakland)
. David DeCastro G Stanford
. The Bengals like to run the ball, and DeCastro is a dominat blocker in the run game.

18. San Diego Chargers
. Courtney Upshaw OLB Alabama
. Upshaw is a beast rushing the passer and is the best 3-4 rusher in this class.

19. Chicago Bears
. Mike Adams OT Ohio St.
. The Bears need to protect Jay Cutler, and with the top receivers gone they do just that with Adams.

20. Tennessee Titans
. Melvin Ingram DE South Carolina
. The Titans need a DE, and Ingram really helped his stock this season with 10 sacks despite dealing with injury.

If those of you out there just can’t get enough Rams talk, you might want to check out the chat transcript with Rams’ insider Jim Thomas at stltoday.com. JT hits on numerous different issues regarding the team, and the answers are very insightful. It’s long, but it’s a good read, so check it out when you get some time.

Some of the more interesting points raised included a question about how much money the Rams have tied up in contracts for 2011, discussions about the Rams future in St. Louis, labor issue talks, draft stuff, and free agent stuff. I won’t ruin it for you, but if you want to know about any of these issues, check it out. Here is the link.

Jim Thomas Chat

Also, a little update on what to expect from Ramblin’ Fan in the near future. I’ve fallen behind on my combine reports due to some late nights working at the paper, and it turns out it takes forever to write one of those posts. However, I plan on finishing the reports in the coming days. There are still linebackers, corners, and safeties to come, so stay tuned. I am also in the process of working on a lengthy feature about Alabama wide receiver Julio Jones, and why I believe he will still be on the board when the Rams draft at 14. At the very least, it will give all of the Jones lovers some hope, so expect to see that soon.
