We have touched on this a little already, but Albert Breer over at NFL.com talked with new Rams coach Jeff Fisher and GM Les Snead about quarterback Sam Bradford. According to the report, the Rams had several suitors interested in acquiring Bradford, but the Rams decided right away that they wanted to keep the young QB. Fisher believes Bradford can be one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and the team had no intention of moving him.

Snead did say that there was an outside scenario in which the Rams would have considered making a trade. “The only time it might’ve crossed my mind was if, for some reason, we were to get stuck [holding the No. 2 overall pick] because we didn’t get what we really wanted. Do you take the kid [Robert Griffin III] and trade him from there? That might’ve been the only time, and that would’ve been the riskiest of risky moves. But I’ll be clear: We decided early on that Sam was our quarterback.”

It’s no secret that I’m a huge believer in Bradford, so I love to hear this strategy. The team had to have a plan if they couldn’t move the pick, but it was never realistic that they were going to move Bradford. He’s our quarterback, and that’s a very good thing.

Well with the 2009 NFL Draft only hours away the rumors of the St. Louis Rams thinking of taking USC QB Mark Sanchez seem to be coming more factual or they are spreading one of the best smoke screens in a while. Are the Rams making a huge effort to acquire more picks and move down in the draft or are they actually thinking of taking Sanchez?

Yesterday it was reported that the St. Louis Rams purchased Sanchez a plane ticket good for a flight from Los Angeles, to St. Louis. Nobody seems to be able to prove that is true or even allowed. Now today word from Albert Breer of The SportingNews has said the New York Jets would be interested in Marc Bulger. In addition to that report Rich Cimini of the New York Daily News pointed out Friday that G.M. Mike Tannenbaum’s job could be hinging on his ability to emerge from draft weekend with a good quarterback for the Jets. Also the St. Louis Post Dispatch said earlier this week, the Rams narrowed their possible first-round picks to four players: Mark Sanchez, Aaron Curry, Eugene Monroe and Jason Smith.
