Today at training camp, the Rams announced quite possibly the most exciting news I’ve heard so far this year.

This season marks the 10th anniversary of their Super Bowl winning season back in 1999. As celebration, the Rams have announced that during their October 11th contest (vs. Minnesota) and their December 20th contest (Houston), the Rams will be sporting their old school, blue and yellow uniforms.

In other news, the Rams continue to stay cautious with fullback Mike Karney.  Karney is yet to return to the practice field ever since tweaking his ankle a few days ago.

Mike Jones was in attendance during today’s practices and it’s too bad he didn’t get to run a quick drill on “tackling 101″.

Apparently, RB Antonio Pittman‘s amount of reps has been greatly reduced and it would not be too far fetched to say that he may struggle to find a way onto the final 53 man roster.  Same goes for TE Joe Klopfenstein.

]]> The St. Louis Rams have made Steven Jackson inactive today for thier game against the New England patriots. This is not good for Rams fans. Steven Jackson injured his quad muscle late in the game last week against the Dallas Cowboys. Antonio Pittman will now start for the St. Louis Rams. Travis Minor and Kenneth Darby will spell and backup Pittman. With Jackson out Donnie Avery will be the key to the Rams offense today. In addition Nick Kaczur is out for the Patriots which will force Mark LeVoir, former Ram to block Leonard Little. Little and Chris Long should have some nice oppurtunites out there today.

]]> Leonard LeapWe have seen the last of the Leonard leap in 2008. The St. Louis Rams place Brian Leonard on IR after injuring his shoulder.  Leonard had surgery on both shoulders after the 2007 season, and now he will require surgery again. Leonard suffered a partial dislocation of the sholder on Sunday while playing out on the special teams. Brian Leonard was considered a bit of a reach when the Rams selected him in the 2nd round of the 2007 NFL draft while already having Steven Jackson on the roster. Leonard had 303 yards rushing and 183 receiving in 2007. In 2008 Leonard was placed behind Antonio Pittman and had only 2 carries for 7 yards on the season. Leonard is most known for his “Leonard Leap” when he hurdles tacklers. So after two years the selection of Leonard looks like another missed pick by the Rams. We wish Leonard good luck in his recovery.
