Remember when I said yesterday that things couldn’t get any worse for the Rams? Well, big shocker, I was wrong. We found out today that wide receiver Danny Amendola will need surgery and will miss the remainder of the season. I think it has been obvious how much this offense, and particularly quarterback Sam Bradford, has missed Amendola’s presence, and they will have to figure out how to get along without him.

Obviously, after yesterday’s news that Bradley Fletcher will miss the season, this is devastating. Up until a few days ago, the news on Amendola was positive, and there was even speculation that he could be back after the bye. Obviously, his setback at practice was enough to warrant a procedure. We can only say “the next guy has to step up” so many times before it becomes a little ridiculous. As it is, we just have to hope that the team gets this thing turned around without some of their top players. I’m certainly not going to blame the team’s 0-4 start on injuries, because every team has them, but it would be hard for anyone to overcome the losses this team has endured.
