Offensive Line – More specifically, offensive guard. The good news is that there are guys left that I think the Rams will have to target tomorrow. At the top of that list is Marcus Cannon (T/G, TCU). This guy was a very good tackle in college, but he projects as a guard in the NFL. He will probably go off the board quickly, but the Rams will have to consider him if he is still there when they pick. Clint Boling is a guy I have talked about prior to the draft, and I wouldn’t be shocked at all if he ended up on this team.

Linebacker – There isn’t much left as far as true 4-3 OLB’s go, and the team inexplicably passed on Mason Foster in the third round. Casey Matthews is still there, and Ross Homan (LB, Ohio St.) is a name I have heard mentioned in Rams circles as well.

Running Back – This is probably the deepest position left as far as the Rams are concerned, and I really think their plan all along has been to wait until Day 3 to address the position. Guys like Kendall Hunter, Delone Carter, Roy Helu, Jaquizz Rodgers, Taiwan Jones, and Jordan Todman will all be possibilities.

Safety – I mocked  Robert Sands to the Rams before the draft, and I still think he is a very nice option. This draft was just awful at the safety position, so this might be a spot to address through free agency. Tyler Sash is still there as well, so he could also be an option.

There are obviously other positions and numerous other options, but these are the guys I like the best. If Day 2 was any indication, however, none of the players named above will be drafted by the Rams.

Before I begin, I wanted to let everyone know what is going to be going on here at Ramblin’ Fan on Thursday. First, I will be making a couple of radio apearances throughout the day talking draft, so watch the Twitter page for times and stations. The only one I have confirmed at this point is with The Sports Reporters on JOCK 98.7 fm in Springfield, MO at 10:40 a.m. For those of you in the Springfield area, tune in and give it a listen. Ok, here we go with the mock. This assumes no trades, although I still believe the team could very well move down in the first round.

Offensive Line

Player I Was Most Impressed With: Rodney Hudson (Florida St.)

Hudson wasn’t the best player in the offensive line group, but he was awfully close and he’s a name that you don’t hear too often. He is an interior O-lineman, and he looked athletically gifted and fairly polished in technique. Depending on where he is projected to go, I think he could certainly be a name to remember for the Rams come draft time.

Honorable Mention: Anthony Castonzo, Nate Solder, Gabe Carimi, Clint Boling, Brandon Fusco, Mike Pouncey.

Most of these guys are the cream of the crop when it comes to projections, so there are really no surprises here. Boling could be on the Rams’ radar, but I think he might go a little high. Fusco is a small-school kid who I was very impressed with, and he could be a nice fit as well.

Player I Was Most Disappointed With: Orlando Franklin (Miami FL)

I don’t know if he just had a bad day or what, but Franklin looked pretty awful. He’s a nice athlete, but he looked stiff and lost in most of the drills. His 40 time and 10-yd splits were good, but he really struggled in most other aspects. I expected more.

Dishonorable Mention: Ricky Henry, Kevin Hughes, James Carpenter, Daniel Kilgore, Lee Ziemba
None of these guys are ranked highly, but I didn’t like what I saw from any of these players. I expected more out of guys like Carpenter (Bama) and Ziemba (Auburn), but they didn’t impress.

I have a previous commitment on Monday so I don’t know if I’ll be able to get the tight end report up, but if not it will be up on Tuesday, followed by running backs, wide receivers, and quarterbacks. I’m going to try to keep these spread out over the week to give everyone a chance to check them out, but every position should be analyzed by the end of the week.
