The draft continues to creep closer, and the Rams are still bringing in prospective choices. On Wednesday, the team hosted LSU DT Michael Brockers, Notre Dame WR Michael Floyd and Alabama CB Dre Kirkpatrick. This group is very talented, but it seems unlikely that any of these guys will be considered at six. If the Rams decide to trade down, however, any of these three could be in play.

Brockers and Kirkpatrick are both nice players at positions of need, but let’s focus on Floyd for now. He has gotten rave reviews from his workouts since the season ended, and he was a monster in his final year with the Irish. He has had some alcohol issues, and I think he will drop because of it. I think he’s going to be an outstanding NFL receiver, and I would love to see him in St. Louis.

He scares me at six because of the issues, but if Blackmon is off the board I wouldn’t be against trading down and taking him. There is going to be a great player there at six no matter what, but taking a good offer, accumulating picks and grabbing Floyd might be a better option. I don’t know how the Rams feel about Floyd, but I think this is a very realistic option. It’s very realistic, and it might just be the best option.

Here is Part 2 of my mock which includes picks 11-20. There are some big names here and the “National Champs” (and I use that term loosely when referring to Alabama) are well represented.
11. Kansas City Chiefs
. Trent Richardson RB Alabama
. The Chiefs love to run the ball and Jamaal Charles is coming off an ACL injury.

12. Seattle Seahawks
. Quinton Coples DE North Carolina
. The Hawks need a QB, but there isn’t one left worth this spot. Upshaw will provide a much-needed pass rusher.

13. Arizona Cardinals
. Luke Kuechly LB Boston College
. The Cards need a playmaker in the middle, and Kuechly fits that mold perfectly.

14. Dallas Cowboys
. Dre Krikpatrick CB Alabama
. I’ve seen Kirkpatrick all over other mock drafts, but the Cowboys need a corner and they will take a chance on him despite his drug arrest.

15. Philadelphia Eagles
. Michael Floyd WR Notre Dame
. The Eagles are going to target a receiver, and Floyd would be a great addition to the offense

16. New York Jets
. Alshon Jeffery WR South Carolina
. Santonio Holmes is likely on his way out, so the Jets give Mark Sanchez a weapon.

17. Cincinnati Bengals (from Oakland)
. David DeCastro G Stanford
. The Bengals like to run the ball, and DeCastro is a dominat blocker in the run game.

18. San Diego Chargers
. Courtney Upshaw OLB Alabama
. Upshaw is a beast rushing the passer and is the best 3-4 rusher in this class.

19. Chicago Bears
. Mike Adams OT Ohio St.
. The Bears need to protect Jay Cutler, and with the top receivers gone they do just that with Adams.

20. Tennessee Titans
. Melvin Ingram DE South Carolina
. The Titans need a DE, and Ingram really helped his stock this season with 10 sacks despite dealing with injury.
