It has become common practice on Mondays this season to take a look at the injuries from Sunday’s game, so I guess there’s no reason to change it up now. I mean, there’s plenty to talk about each and every week so we might as well keep doing it. The injury list for the Rams continues to grow larger and larger, and although there weren’t any season-enders this week (at least not yet), there were some issues.

Let’s start with the most serious. OT Mark LeVoir will miss the next 2-4 weeks with a pectoral strain. I don’t know what the team is going to do with the offensive line for this coming week, but I’d say it’s almost certain that we will be seeing another new face on the roster in a few days. Also getting bruised up was James Laurinaitis, who had an MRI Monday on his sore foot. Justin Bannan also got an MRI on his shoulder, and Josh Hull was next in line at the MRI machine with a hamstring. Hull will likely miss this week.

Marquis Johnson is suffering from what the team is calling an abdominal contusion, and he is staying overnight at the hospital for observation. Justin King had some swelling on his knee, and Chris Long has a sore ankle and will be day-to-day. Mark Clayton and Austin Pettis are both dealing with knee soreness, and they are expected to be limited in practice. Finally, Lance Kendricks has a mild concussion and will be evaluated again later in the week. More on next page…

We already discussed the injury to Sam Bradford’s ankle yesterday, so I won’t say much else about it since we didn’t learn anything new on Tuesday’s day off. He is being called “day-to-day” right now, so expect AJ Feeley to get most of the work with the 1′s on Wednesday.

As for the other guys who are banged up, let’s start with Fred Robbins, who is dealing with a hand contusion suffered on Sunday. He went for an X-ray on Monday, and everything reportedly looked fine. Rodger Saffold has a bone bruise on his ankle/leg area, and Cadillac Williams has a thigh contusion. Both players had MRI on Monday, so we should know more about the seriousness of those injuries in the coming days.

For all the Mark Clayton fans out there, he will be practicing this week and could return to game action soon. Spags said that they won’t rush him out there until he is ready, so they will watch him close and hopefully he will be able to help the team out soon. Marquis Johnson was also activated from the PUP list, and the same goes for him. Johnson isn’t a game-changer by any means, but we obviously seen some depth at DB, so his return should be a good thing.

The Rams have had fairly good luck on the injury front thus far, but it looks like that’s no longer the case. First, let’s start with the good news. WR Danario Alexander missed practice today and got an MRI on his surgically repaired knee. The MRI showed no further damage, which is pretty great news considering his injury history. “It’s not that anything happened,” coach Steve Spagnuolo said. “It’s just that it feels funny on him. We just want to make sure we’re not dealing with anything serious, and put his mind at ease.” DX has had a rough go of it so far this preseason, and I think we need to start at least entertaining the possibility that he could get cut. I’m not saying it will happen, but if you consider that Danny Amendola, Mike Sims-Walker, Donnie Avery, Brandon Gibson, Austin Pettis and Greg Salas seem likely to make it, DX could be in trouble. I could see the team trying to do something like putting one of the rookies on practice squad or maybe keeping 7 WRs, but if not then it could be bad news.

In other unfortunate injury news, TE Michael Hoomanawanui left practice with a strained calf. We don’t know the extent of the injury for sure yet, but it sounds like this could be potentially serious. Illini Mike has a ton of potential, but he just hasn’t been able to stay on the field consistently in his short career. Hopefully this isn’t as bad as we think, but if he does have to miss significant time it could be good for a guy like Fendi Onobun.

Mardy Gilyard missed practice with a thigh bruise suffered in the Titans game, while Dan Muir missed time with an ankle tweak. Jacob Bell and Rodger Saffold were back at practice today, which is good.
