Well, some relief is in sight. The refs union has finally decided that enough is enough. The N.F.L. must have felt like they just were facing Manny Paccquiao in a championship fight. The black-eye suffered by the lack of an bargaining agreement for the REAL referees will forever impact this season. Your backup plan failed miserably! At least my game predictions for this week hopefully won’t be impacted as much as last weeks. I went a horrible 6-10 as upsets also were Rampant. Thanks to Oakland, Minnesota and Tennessee, N.F.L. parity is truly becoming a reality.

Game Predictions

Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens- This seems like an easy pick and I do pick the Ravens over the Browns, but it will be a close one. Baltimore 27-23.

New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills- The McDaniel experiment failed in St. Louis and now New England is now in a similar dilemma and it won’t be fixed this week. Buffalo 21-20.

Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions- The Lions are tough at home and will have a field day with the Vikings. Detroit 27-20.

Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans- The Texans will bring the Titans back to earth and put up an old fashion whipping on Tennessee. Houston 31-10.

San Diego Chargers At Kanas City Chiefs- After getting spanked at home, the Chargers go on the road to face an energized Chiefs team. Kanas City 23-20.

San Francisco 49ers at New York Jets- The 49ers proved to have dings on their armour that can be game changing and the Jets wounded defense will have their hands full this week with an hungry San Francisco offense. The 49ers edginess continues this week, 30-21.

Dec 12, 2011; Seattle, WA, USA; St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson (39) carries the ball against the Seattle Seahawks at CenturyLink Field.
Seattle Seahawks at St. Louis Rams- The Rams first divisional game will be a tough one. With some of the walking wounded returning to the team and the renewed fire from the fans at home, St. Louis will remind Seattle there no place like home. Rams 28-17.

Miami Dolphins at Arizona Cardinals- Is Arizona for real? Their defense is and the Dolphins will need to have something surprising for the Cardinals to keep it close and will. Upset, Miami 20-17.

Oakland Raiders at Denver Broncos- Another game that should be easy to pick, but Denver at home is too hard to pass up. Broncos 26-17.

Cincinnati Bengals at Jacksonville Jaguars- This cat fight will have stripes eating spots. Bengals 21-10.

New Orleans Saints at Green Bay Packers- Which team is on the road to recovery? Saints? Packers? Green Bay offense beats up on New Orleans defense 33-21.

Washington Redskins at Tampa Bay Buccaneers- The Redskins can put points on the board but their defense is questionable. Tampa Bay has their problems too but play everyone tough. Buccaneers 23-21.

New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles- The Giants have returned to form and the Eagles luckiness ran out last week. No rabbit’s foot for Philadelphia this week. New York 23-20.

Chicago Bears at Dallas Cowboys- Both of these team’s defenses proved tough last week. But the Cowboys have a edge on offense. Dallas 17-13.

Numbers Ranking

The average score of following rankings: Record, total offense, total defense, points scored and points allowed. Records ties broken by point differential and rest by higher ranking in each category.

Good Morning to all the St. Louis Rams fans itching to get this game week started. I figured to get you all started with my predictions for this week’s games:

New York Giants at Carolina Panthers- Will Eli Manning throw for 500 yds. and Cam Newton get over 300 yds. combined this week? I’m thinking no for both options but the Giants do have team resolve, so they win 24-19.

Sep 16, 2012; St. Louis, MO, USA; St. Louis Rams running back Daryl Richardson (26) is picked up by Rams guard Harvey Dahl (62) after scoring on a 2 point conversion rush attempt against the Washington Redskins during the second half at the Edward Jones Dome. The Rams defeated the Redskins 31-28. Mandatory Credit: Photo by Scott Rovak-US PRESSWIRE

St. Louis Rams at Chicago Bears- Will both teams that played in week 2 show up for this game? I’m thinking no on both counts as the Rams come back down to earth and Jay Cutler doesn’t look like a deer in headlights this week. But, I am going to take the Rams 20-14, dah!

Cincinnati Bengals at Washington Redskins- This was one of the more difficult predictions to pick based on the Bengal’s up and down trends in recent history. Robert Griffin III at home this week is a definite edge for the Redskins, but injuries on their defense will make this a close one. Redskins 24-20 .

Detroit Lions at Tennessee Titans- The Lions defense will stop a weak Titans running Game that will force a passing contest by both teams. And we know the Lions have a good one. Lions win 30-17.

Kanas City Chiefs at New Orleans Saints- The Saints better hope the Chiefs don’t decide to show up this week on offense if they have hope to have a chance, even at home. Will we see more head hanging on the Saints sidelines? Not as much, Saints win it at the end 27-24.

San Francisco 49ers at Minnesota Vikings- If the 49ers don’t win by 3 touchdowns, I don’t think they don’t deserve their high ranking. 49ers 40-17.

New York Jets at Miami Dolphins- Will it be Tim Tebow time this week? Yes, he will play, no he won’t lead the team to a win. But, the Jets defense will make it a long day for the Dolphins. Jets 19-9.

Buffalo Bills at Cleveland Browns- Parity seems to rule the day early in this season, but the Browns deserve to be at the bottom of the barrel and the Bills will help them stay there. Bills 28-14.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers At Dallas Cowboys- The Buccaneers will not have enough scoring answers to the Cowboys offense. Dallas 23-13.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts- Andrew Luck gets his chance to shine at home and he does. Colts win big 33-9.

Atlanta Falcons at San Diego Chargers- Phillip Rivers may not throw three interceptions in one quarter against the Falcons and the Chargers defense is more stout than what Atlanta faced on Monday. So, the Falcons will need to bring their ‘A’ game if they want to win on the road. They will, but the Chargers win, 27-24.

Philadelphia Eagles at Arizona Cardinals- Both of these undefeated teams don’t deserve to be 2-0, but someone has to win, right? Eagles 24-17.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Oakland Raiders- One of my favorite all-time rivally match ups. But, won’t be much for the Blackhole to cheer for this time. Steelers 26-12.

Houston Texans at Denver Broncos- This is not your David Carr era Texans anymore and with Peyton Manning playing at home, it makes for a very interesting game. Texans 31-21.

New England Patriots at Baltimore Ravens- I will be watching this one as it is my choice as game of the week. Both teams struggled last week on offense, but the Ravens running game is a huge edge over the Patriots. Ravens 19-17.

Green Bay Packers at Seattle Seahawks- The Packers have a big advantage at the skill positions and the Seahawks have the 12th man. Seattle will need 12 on the field Monday night to stop Aaron Rodgers. Packers 30-20.

Numbers Rankings-

I’m still trying to understand the formula of how the major media sources rank their teams. Well, I’m an old school guy and believe that the numbers do the talking. Here is how I rank em: (Using the average score of following rankings: Record, total offense, total defense, points scored and points allowed. Records ties broken by point differential and rest by higher ranking in each category.)

1. Houston 4.2

2. San Diego 6.2

3. New England 6.2

4. Philadelphia 8.6

5. San Francisco 9.4

6. Baltimore 10.2

7. Washington 11.4

8. Atlanta 11.6

9. Seattle 13.6

10. Green Bay 13.6

11. New York Giants 14.2

12. Denver 14.2

13. Carolina 14.6

14. Miami 14.8

15.Chicago 15.2

16. Minnesota 15.4

17. Arizona 15.8

18. Pittsburgh 15.8

19. Detroit 16.4

20. Buffalo 17.0

21. Dallas 17.4

22. St. Louis 18.4

23. New Orleans 19.8

24. New York Jets 20.0

25. Jacksonville 20.8

26. Tampa Bay 22.0

27. Kanas City 22.2

28. Oakland 23.2

29. Cincinnati 23.2

30. Cleveland 23.8

31. Indianapolis 24.2

32. Tennessee 30.0
