This NFL offseason will be remembered for a couple different things, like the Drew Brees contract and guys like Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III starting their careers, but nothing will stand out more than the numerous arrests from drinking and driving. In case you stopped keeping track, here is the list of guys in the league that we know of who have been arrested for driving while impaired: Robert Quinn, Nick Fairley, Kenny Britt, Donald Washington, Marshawn Lynch, Aaron Berry, David Diehl, Justin Blackmon, Jerome Felton, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Brandon Meriweather, Knowshon Moreno and Aldon Smith. Former NFL running back Derrick Ward has seen enough.

Ward took to Twitter on Saturday to impart some wisdom to the guys who apparently need all they can get. Here is a list of tweets, and while it’s long, it’s all pretty interesting and certainly valid.

“Alright NFL players!!! Its absolutely E-N-O-U-G-H!!! Drinking and Driving? How dumb can u be? Its absolutely stupid and your making the good guys that actually do right in the NFL look bad. How easy is it to call a cab to get a ride home? So what? Leave your car get it in the am!? Stop being so dumb! Yes that’s right dumb! I’m sitting here retired enjoyed a great career now all I want to do is become a fan and I see numerous arrest for DWI in the past several weeks? How many has it been this week 4? Absolutely ridiculous your not only putting yourself in danger but your putting other innocent people in danger that don’t deserve your stupidity. Open your eyes and do the right thing. I know what its like to get go out get drunk and debate on weather to drive home or not. Call a taxi! So what if u spend some money to take one or U get a ticket on your car in the am when u go bac 2 get it At least u won’t have to pay bail and then lawyer fees and then miss game checks from being suspended for a few games. Damn this really has me furious and its so avoidable. Tighten up youngsters of the NFL because guess what it doesn’t mean National Football League it really means Not For Long league. There’s no excuse to drive drunk! NONE! If all else fails WALK! NFL players are world class athletes Walking should be nothing!”

Since we are running out of time, I’ve decided to compress multiple picks into each post. Tonight, we are going to hit on the numbers 6, 7, and 8 selections.

#6 – Cleveland – Robert Quinn

I think Julio Jones will get some serious consideration here, but the Browns are rumored to be heavily enamored with North Carolina DE Robert Quinn. Quinn would fill a major need as a pass-rusher for this team, and I think he would have a more immediate impact on the success of the team. New coach Pat Shurmur would probably prefer an offensive player, but Quinn gives him an impact player on the other side of the ball.

#7 – San Francisco – Blaine Gabbert

The Niners have been without solid quarterback play for what seems like forever now, and I highly doubt new coach Jim Harbaughwill want anything to do with Alex Smith since he has no previous ties to him. Gabbert is the top QB on my board, and I think he would be a perfect fit here. The Niners need a franchise QB, and they get one here at 7.

#8 – Tennessee – Nick Fairley

Fairley’s stock has dropped quite a bit since the end of the season, but I think his Pro Day performance was enough to keep him in the Top Ten. Tennessee needs a force in the middle, and Fairley’s questionable character won’t be much of a problem for the Titans. Again, I think Jones is an option here, but Fairley has the potential to be a game-changer in the middle, and the Titans won’t pass him up.

We are up to the third pick in our 2011 mock, so it’s time to see where the Buffalo Bills are going to go. The Bills showed the ability to score on offense last season, but their defense was just awful. It’s been tough to get a read on how the team feels about starting quarterback (and former Ram) Ryan Fitzpatrick, but he put up solid numbers in the 2010 season. I wouldn’t be shocked if they went quarterback with the pick, especially if Cam Newton (QB Auburn) is available, but the need is really on defense.

Who They Should Take: There are a ton of options here that could really help this team. I think they will pull the trigger on Newton if he makes it there, but I don’t think he does. Blaine Gabbert (QB Mizzou) is also an option, but I don’t think they are in love with him. Defensive line is probably the right move here, so Von Miller (DE/OLB Texas A&M) is a nice option, as are Da’Quan Bowers (DE Clemson) and Robert Quinn (DE N. Carolina).

Who They Will Take: I think Miller will go here, and I think it’s probably the right pick. I wouldn’t give up on Fitzpatrick just yet if I were the Bills, and they have a much bigger need on defense. Miller looks like he could develop into an elite player, and he would be an outstanding addition to this struggling unit. I think the first two picks are going to determine a lot of what happens over the next few picks, but if the draft starts with Newton and Dareus, I think Miller becomes a Bill.

Other Possibilities: Gabbert, Bowers, Quinn, Nick Fairley (DT Auburn)
