I love rumor talk, especially when it involves Reggie Bush and the Rams. Our good friends over at Who Dat Dish here at the Fansided Network have been looking at the team’s running back situation heading into next season, and I stumbled upon an article written last week that discussed a rumor of a potential trade between the Rams and Saints for the former USC star. According to the article, the Rams would send a second- or third-round pick to the Saints in exchange for Bush and a late-round pick, with the picks probably coming in the 2012 draft. The Saints would get rid of Bush’s big contract and acquire a decent pick, and the Rams would get the dynamic, pass-catching compliment to Steven Jackson that they have been missing for years.

I’ve made it no secret that I would absolutely love to see Bush in St. Louis next season, and if the report on this rumor is accurate, I think it would be an outstanding move by the organization. I know the price tag is a little high, but the Rams have money to spend and are in desperate need of a player like Bush. Giving up a second or third in exchange for a player of his caliber, plus getting a pick in return, seems like an awfully good deal, and if it is truly on the table, I think the organization has to give it serious consideration. I know Darren Sproles is still an option, and by all accounts he is the preferred option of many in the front office, but I would encourage everyone to take a very close look at Bush before any decision is made. Rumors are one thing, but hearing this over and over again, and this time with actual potential trade details, really has me excited about the possibility. We can’t do anything until the lockout is over, but when the two sides do finally come to an agreement, this is one of the many situations Rams fans should keep an eye on.

I have really been debating with myself over the last few weeks about when to start looking ahead to the upcoming NFL Draft. If there’s one thing you need to know about me, it’s that I’m an NFL Draft nut. If I could, I would research and discuss the Draft 365 days a year for the rest of my life. I have looked at at least one mock draft every day since the Rams’ season ended, and I haven’t even started doing intense research on it yet.

With all that being said, as much as I would love to start Draft discussions here at Ramblin’ Fan, I think it might be a bit too soon. We still have well over two months until D-Day, and I don’t really want to get everybody sick of Draft talk before it actually happens. That’s why I’ve decided to leave it up to you, my faithful readers. I posted a poll for you to cast your vote, but feel free to start a discussion in the comments section as well. If you are ready for the Draft right now, I will be more than happy to kick off discussions immediately. If you want to wait, I’m cool with that too. Either way, I just want to know what you think. This is your chance to be heard and to determine the path this blog will take over the next few months, so let your voice be heard!

When you analyze this Rams team off of the field, you will be overcome with a certain lack of excitement or knowledge. Outside of your basic charity event or amateur camp, you really don’t hear too much about the Rams’ players these days.

Some may call it dull, I however like to call it a gift from the football gods.

When you look at this team, you will not find a player currently binded by a sexual harassment charge (sorry Ben, evidence is forming). You will not be able to find a player threatening to sit out a season for more money, a player accused of criminal possession of a handgun, a player with drug charges, or even a player that is doing everything to keep the spotlight on himself. In fact, the most major offense a Rams’ player has committed this year is probably nothing more than a minor speeding ticket. Most people enjoy reading up everyday on any new information regarding scandals involving NFL players, but personally, I enjoy waking up to find that the Rams are not losing any players to jail time.

I’m not saying every player on the team is an angel, but at least they all are able to focus on football this year, which is a tremendous help to a team trying to get back on track after combining for 5 wins over the last two seasons. As long as the team stays healthy and out of trouble, one has to believe this is a team dedicated to turning themselves around and will in fact due so over the next couple seasons.
